What others are saying:
"Megan was an essential member of my birth team. I don't know that I could have navigated my hospital birth without her resourcefulness and help. While doctors and nurses came and went, Megan was a consistent and positive presence. Along with her partner, Megan provided the extra support that nurses weren't able to, and she was a great advocate for my birth plan. When unexpected detours to the birth plan were necessary, she was especially supportive and she validated my decisions. She brought a wealth of insight to my birth experience and she was especially strong in guiding my husband and me to practice different positions and techniques when the contractions were most forceful." - Kelly Holt 3/11/15
"I was caught off guard when my boss asked me to return to work earlier than planned and didn’t feel either emotionally or logistically prepared for the transition. To make the situation more stressful, my baby refused to take a bottle and we had only just started solids. It was worrying to think that the change would completely disrupt the careful routine I had established around our home, so I jumped when my birth-doula told me she had the perfect recommendation for me with Megan. What a relief to work with her! The first time we opened the door and my son laid eyes on Megan his face lit up in a huge smile. He adores her. She is professional, caring, knowledgeable, patient, a mother herself, and an expert in her field. She was able to guide us through a tough transition with calm; helping my son to take a cup instead of a bottle, gently helping him continue the transition to solid food and maintaining our routine of naps and playtimes with ease. I felt absolutely comfortable leaving my son in her hands. In addition, Megan was very open and generous to me as I sought her out for advice and questions as a first time parent, providing for me the important emotional support that a new mother needs. I can’t recommend her highly enough. "

Megan came highly recommended by my trusted labor & delivery doula and IBCLC, Serena Meyer. From day one, Megan felt like a friend. I needed help bottle-feeding and comforting my twin boys while I pumped milk for them. I needed support in continuing to try to get my premie twins to breastfeed when they were having difficulty latching and transferring milk. I needed help preparing food, washing and sterilizing bottles and pump parts, and washing and organizing baby clothes so I could spend more time enjoying my babies during the super short time that they were small.
Megan's quiet, gentle confidence soothing our newborn twin boys during their evening scream-a-thons was reassuring and helped calm the whole family. We were very comfortable having her in our home as an extra pair of hands who often had the skills that we, as new parents, were still trying to master, combined with her patience as a teacher. The best adjectives to describe Megan are knowledgeable, dependable, and hard-working.
Megan is the glue. She becomes what is missing to help fill in the gaps. Our needs varied from day to day but her response was always the same - to fill whatever the need was.
